Product Safety:

• In general, smelling salts are considered to be safe. To date, there are no known cases of ammonia inhalants directly causing injury or illness when used appropriately. Some experts have cautioned use particularly in potentially concussed athletes as the effects of the smelling salts may mask the signs and symptoms of a concussion.

Directions for Use:

• The inhalant should be positioned no closer than 10-15 cms from the nose while activating the package. To break the inner vial, crush once between the thumb and forefinger at the dot located at the center of the inhalant. Pass the inhalant back and forth close to the nose. Discard after use.

Caution:

• Use should be brief as prolonged use can lead to irritation of the nasal/ respiratory mucosa. Rarely the surprise of the scent can cause the head to jerk back, which poses a theoretical risk of neck injury. Smelling salts should not be used to treat a concussion as it can mask important symptoms. The FDA and Health Canada have not approved this product or packaging. Keep out of reach of children. Use at your own risk.
